Detailed Description Expansion of the library network of the Public Central Library of Veria using RFID technology for lending systems, development of digital applications for wine & implementation of a communication program and promotional activities

With the proposed intervention "Strengthening the digital infrastructure of the Public Central Library of Veria in the direction of Improving the digital experience of the residents and visitors of the region", it is attempted: I. on the one hand, the expansion of the network of Libraries of the Public Central Library of Veria with the use of RFID technology for lending systems in areas of Imathia and II. and on the other hand, the development of the Thematic Wine Library with the cooperation of relevant thematic bodies of the Imathia region. Individual objects include the enrichment of the repository with digital content that further highlights the identity of the region and the work of the Cultural and Creative Sector and the promotion of collections for the creation of a digital experience. The planned network will be based on the existing infrastructure of the Library of Veria (equipment, software, databases), as described above, which will be enriched with digital content and will create conditions for direct access and distribution of this content to a wider audience, especially in areas that do not have direct access to the library's services. At the same time, in collaboration with wine producers' organizations in the region, it will support a set of activities that will aim to create within the Library of Veria an information hub for vines and wine, with an emphasis on the possibilities of developing crops and wine production in Northern Greece, and on the presentation of local production through the implementation of actions oriented towards the tourist promotion of the products. In addition, the main actions also include the robust implementation of a communication plan and dissemination of the project's results to the general public in order to stimulate their interest and maximize the use of the services provided.
